Hello! If you’ve received this, you’ve been invited to take part in Indie Charity Weekend on November 16–17, a new initiative started by Will Bishop (X, Mastodon) to raise money for the charity of your choosing.
How will it work?
- Your app, along with your nominated charity, will be displayed on indiecharityweekend.com
- After the weekend is over, you will submit proof of earnings and proof of your donation to Will Bishop via X, Mastodon, or email.
- Once your donation is confirmed, your app will have a Donation Verified tag against.
That process is such that your apps individual earnings do not need to be made public, but your figure will contribute to the total raised amount. If you wish to share how much you donate on your own social media, you are of course free to do so!
How do I join?
Head to indiecharityweekend.com and click Add your app in the top right, you’ll be asked for a couple details:
- Your name
- A link to your social media (ensure your DMs are open, a moderator will need to contact you to confirm your submission),
- A link to your App
- The name of the charity you’ll be supported
- The URL for the charity
You’ll need to agree to two boxes:
- I agree to donate 100% of proceeds generated on November 16th to 17th.
- I agree to submit proof of earnings and proof of donation within 72 hours after the weekend.
Advertising
I will be posted about this event on X, Mastodon, and Reddit, as well as sharing links within my own app. You are encouraged to spread the word of this event in your app, on social media, and through whichever means you wish.
